Job summary

Preply is building a unified data lake and production-grade data assets to power analytics, ML, and product features across the platform. As a Data Engineer, you’ll own ingestion, enrichment, and governance to ensure reliable, observable data pipelines that scale with user growth and global reach.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building components of large, high-scale applications (data pipelines, APIs, algorithms).
• Experience in platform or data engineering teams delivering in multi-stakeholder environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP or equivalent) and modern DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience designing real-time and batch data processing pipelines using Spark, Flink, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Debezium.

• Contribute to trusted ingestion & enrichment foundations (Data Lake and Data as a Product).
• Develop end-to-end ingestion pipelines (batch & streaming).
• Data quality, contracts & early validation across ingestion lifecycles.
• Enrichment, modeling & lifecycle management for datasets across domains.
• Observability, reliability & operational excellence for pipelines.
• Governance & privacy by design across data flows.
• Enable self-service & standardization through templates & tooling.
• Cross-team collaboration with Product, Backend, Analytics & ML teams.
