Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Data Engineer III to join our Data Engineering team in the United Kingdom. You will build and govern data pipelines, work with Python ingestion, Airflow orchestration, and Snowflake/Databricks, and ensure reliable, secure data delivery from source to decision-ready output.

You will implement new ingestion sources, investigate failures, anticipate downstream impact, and contribute to data security and governance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software or data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with production data pipelines experience.
• Ability to investigate pipeline issues independently before escalating.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow) and a cloud data warehouse/lakehouse (Snowflake/Databricks).

Responsibilities

• Implement ingestion sources end-to-end, including connectors, DAGs, schemas, monitoring, and catalog registration.
• Investigate pipeline failures independently and ship documented fixes.
• Identify downstream consumers and potential impact before shipping new pipelines.
• Write clear handovers and escalation notes for unresolved issues.
• Review peers' PRs and catch non-obvious issues in pipelines.
