Job summary

Travel Counsellors is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. You will build scalable data pipelines, modern data products and AI-enabled workflows within a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the Lead Data Engineer, you will collaborate with Insights, AI, and technology teams to deliver trusted data solutions that drive measurable business value across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL with production-grade code.
• Practical Python for data engineering and automation.
• Strong data modelling and semantic-layer understanding (dimensional/relational/dbt).
• Experience with Snowflake and migrating legacy Microsoft data technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).
• Experience building resilient data integrations (ELT, orchestration, API/batch/event-driven).
• Good understanding of SDLC, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, IaC.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Insights, Data Science/AI, Technology teams and stakeholders to translate problems into data/AI solutions.
• Design, build and operate data pipelines and data products for reporting, analytics, automation and AI.
• Develop the Data Intelligence Platform using Snowflake, dbt, Airbyte and cloud services.
• Monitor data quality, governance, and platform health; ensure cost-efficiency.
• Maintain and migrate legacy Microsoft data technologies where required.
• Build and manage AI agents and agentic workflows with governance and observability.
