Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to build, integrate and maintain data foundations supporting reporting and analytics. You may come from a Data Engineer role or from Senior BI/Data Developer backgrounds moving into data engineering.
In a cloud-based environment, you will work with SQL Server/Azure SQL, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to transform data and create reliable datasets for business insights.
Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a growing UK organisation as they continue to develop their data capability and establish a strong permanent team.
We're looking for a hands‑on Data Engineer to help build, integrate and maintain the data foundations behind reporting and analytics across the organisation.
Importantly, we're open-minded about your current job title.
You may already be a Data Engineer, or you could be a strong Senior BI Developer / Data Developer who has increasingly moved into the back end - working with SQL, integrations, data transformation and cloud technologies - and wants the opportunity to develop further into data engineering.
You'll be working within a modern, cloud-based data environment, with technologies including:
You'll work with data coming from multiple operational systems, helping move, transform and structure it so the wider business can rely on it.
But this isn't simply about getting data from A to B.
A major part of the role is making sure the output actually makes sense: reconciling information against source systems, spotting anomalies and understanding the business context behind the numbers.
You'll have a strong background in SQL, BI development, data development or engineering and be comfortable working with data across multiple systems.
Experience with some of the following would be particularly useful:
You don't need to have done absolutely everything on that list.
We're particularly interested in people who understand data end-to-end, are naturally curious when something doesn't look right and want to continue developing their technical capability.
This is a great time to join. Significant work has already gone into developing the data environment, and the focus now is on building the permanent capability to continue that journey.
You’ll join at a point where the foundations are being established, giving you the opportunity to influence how the environment develops rather than simply inheriting a finished platform.
The role is remote-first with occasional travel required for team collaboration.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
