Job summary

Synchro is seeking a Data Engineer to lead the evolution of an existing data platform in London. You will work across teams to influence strategy, design scalable data architecture and apply AI to redefine how modern data teams operate.

Qualifications

• Extensive Data Engineer experience across teams to influence strategy and design scalable data architecture.
• Advanced SQL and data modelling skills with hands-on dbt experience.
• Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (BigQuery) and BI platforms (Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Preset or Superset).
• Ecommerce/retail or fashion experience is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Job description

Synchro have partnered with a long term client and well-known, boutique fashion retail brand to recruit a Data Engineer to lead the evolution of an existing data platform.

This role requires an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys working across teams to influence strategy, design scalable data architecture and use AI to redefine how modern data teams operate.

You will be experienced in data platform architecture, customer insight, machine learning and commercial strategy.

You will have a broad technical skillset and have advanced SQL and data modelling skills, as well as solid hands-on experience with dbt. Further required experience includes modern cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, with BI platforms including Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Preset or Superset. Ideally, you will have prior experience within ecommerce, retail or fashion.

Due to the nature of this role and this organsision, you will have strong stakeholder management experience and have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Any experience with using Python (or another programming language) alongside SQL is highly desirable, as is practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

This role will be based in Clapham, South West London and offers hybrid remote working, with the expectation to be in the office 2/3 days per week.
