Job summary

Areti Group | B Corp™ is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in Greater London to drive a brand-new data platform. The role blends hands-on data engineering with strategic influence on standards and architecture.

You will design pipelines, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and shape how data is collected, cleansed, migrated and transformed across the organisation, while shaping the future direction of data capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with Spark and data modelling.
• Experience with Azure/AWS/GCP and modern data platforms.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Are you a Data Engineer who wants more than just building and maintaining pipelines?

I’m working with a high-growth, technology-led business that is investing heavily in data and building a brand-new data platform to transform how data is collected, managed and used across the organisation.

They’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to play a key role in shaping that platform from the ground up.

What you’ll be doing

This is a genuinely hands-on role, but with plenty of opportunity to influence the bigger picture.

You’ll be:

• Designing and building data pipelines across multiple layers of a new data platform
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and turn them into technical solutions
• Helping shape the infrastructure supporting the platform
• Establishing engineering standards, patterns and best practices
• Working across data cleansing, migration, modelling and transformation
• Supporting governance and providing technical guidance around data
• Identifying new opportunities to improve how data is used across the business
• Helping define the future direction of the organisation’s data capabilities

What they’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll have:

• 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with Spark
• Strong experience with data modelling, migration, cleansing and transformation
• Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience building data pipelines and working with modern data platforms
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
• A mindset focused on improving how data is used, rather than simply maintaining the status quo
