Job summary

Job description

Undertake the full degree apprenticeship programme, including university attendance, independent study, portfolio development, workplace assessment and end-point assessment where applicable. Apply learning from the academic programme to workplace activities, service improvement tasks and day-to-day operational delivery. Support the collection, validation, cleansing, analysis and presentation of data to inform operational, clinical, corporate and improvement priorities. Assist with the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, data products and digital tools, using approved systems and under appropriate supervision. Work with colleagues to understand user needs, translate requirements into clear outputs and present information in accessible formats for a range of audiences. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to safe, responsive and person-centred services. Manage delegated workload effectively, prioritising tasks, meeting agreed deadlines and escalating risks, issues or concerns appropriately. Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, managers, service users, patients, carers, university staff and external partners as appropriate to the role. Maintain accurate records, documentation and data in line with Trust policies, information governance requirements and professional standards. Handle data securely and ethically, applying relevant information governance, confidentiality, data protection and cyber security principles. Support the review and improvement of local processes, pathways, systems and ways of working, contributing ideas and evidence from apprenticeship learning. Participate in supervision, appraisal, reflective practice and ongoing personal development. Act at all times within the limits of competence, seeking guidance and support where required. Apprenticeship Requirements Commit to completing all elements of the degree apprenticeship within the agreed timeframe. Attend university sessions, workplace learning activities and mandatory apprenticeship reviews. Maintain an apprenticeship portfolio or learning record, evidencing progress against knowledge, skills and behaviours. Use protected learning time appropriately and balance study requirements with service responsibilities. Engage constructively with the line manager, workplace mentor, university tutor and apprenticeship team. Demonstrate increasing independence and responsibility as competence develops. Meet the academic, attendance, conduct and assessment requirements set by the university and apprenticeship standard. Key Results from Postholder: You will communicate professionally and effectively with: Line Manager and Apprenticeship Supervisor Workplace Mentor or Practice Educator University Tutor and Apprenticeship Programme Team Recruiting Department and Wider Directorate Colleagues Patients, Service Users, Carers or Members of the Public, where relevant to the role Corporate services including Human Resources, Organisational Development, Education and Workforce Teams External partners and stakeholders, where appropriate You will also: Work flexibly across the Directorate and the teams, services, and divisions within the Trust. Seek out opportunities to develop your understanding of the Trust and the services it provides through the development of effective working relationships. Be an advocate for the products and services of Data Analytics and Assurance Team Governance, Safety and Professional Standards: You will: Comply with all Trust policies, procedures and statutory requirements relevant to the role. Maintain confidentiality and comply with information governance, data protection and records management requirements. Promote equality, diversity and inclusion, treating all people with dignity and respect. Follow safeguarding policies and escalate concerns appropriately. Contribute to a safe working environment by following health and safety, infection prevention and risk management procedures. Report incidents, risks or concerns in line with Trust policy. Complete statutory, mandatory and role-specific training as required. Uphold the standards of conduct expected of NHS staff and any relevant professional or academic code of conduct. Responsibility for Health and safety, you will: Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, you will be required to fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. Work Circumstances: You will be based at Buckingham Row for a minimum of 3 days per week and may also be required to travel to other sites. You will be supported to work remotely for,1 day per week, whilst ensuring the needs of the service are met. You will not be required to work on call. This is a 3-year apprenticeship programme. You will be required to successfully complete and pass the full programme before progressing to the substantive role. During the apprenticeship, you will be paid in accordance with Agenda for Change Annex 21: Year 1: 60% of the top of Band 4 salary Year 2: 65% of the top of Band 4 salary Year 3: 70% of the top of Band 4 salary Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will move to the entry pay point of Band 4 for a minimum of one year. Following this period, further pay progression will be subject to demonstrating that you meet the defined progression criteria.
