Job summary

WWL invites applications for a 3-year Degree Apprenticeship in Data Analytics and Assurance, based at Buckingham Row, Wigan, with remote work one day per week and travel to other sites as needed.

You will work towards a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Degree, combining paid workplace experience with university study and contributing to data collection, reporting and data products in a healthcare setting.

  • Support data collection, validation, cleansing, analysis and presentation for operational priorities.
  • Assist with reports, dashboards, data products and digital tools under supervision.
  • Work with colleagues to translate user needs into outputs and present information accessibly.

Responsibility for Health and safety, you will:
  • Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, you will be required to fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
  • Work Circumstances:
  • You will be based at Buckingham Row for a minimum of 3 days per week and may also be required to travel to other sites.
  • You will be supported to work remotely for,1 day per week, whilst ensuring the needs of the service are met.

You will not be required to work on call.

This is a 3-year apprenticeship programme. You will be required to successfully complete and pass the full programme before progressing to the substantive role.

During the apprenticeship, you will be paid in accordance with Agenda for Change Annex 21:

  • Year 1: 60% of the top of Band 4 salary
  • Year 2: 65% of the top of Band 4 salary
  • Year 3: 70% of the top of Band 4 salary

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will move to the entry pay point of Band 4 for a minimum of one year. Following this period, further pay progression will be subject to demonstrating that you meet the defined progression criteria.
