Job summary

Pontoon is seeking a Data & Digital Specialist to elevate data governance and digital capabilities in the energy sector. Hybrid role across Bristol, Cardiff or Castle Donington, focusing on data quality, governance, accessibility, and opportunities to improve the DSO Data Portal and Data Strategy.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders, promote metadata management, and advocate cloud-based data capabilities, including AWS, SQL and Python, while aligning with Ofgem guidance.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data governance and quality management frameworks.
• Experience in regulated environments, ideally with Ofgem standards.
• Ability to influence and drive improvements in data maturity.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern architectures.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Environment

While this role isn't hands-on data engineering, familiarity with modern data platform technologies is essential, including:

• AWS cloud services
• SQL databases
• PostgreSQL
• Python
• Data cataloguing and metadata management

Experience with AWS services like Glue or SageMaker is a plus, but the focus remains on governance, quality, and strategy.
