My Client, a leader in the HFT world, is looking for a driven data centre engineer who is familiar with financial data centre operations to join their trading infrastructure team in Slough. In this role, you will be responsible for logistics and inventory management, as well as building and maintaining trading infrastructure to ensure reliable and highly serviceable data centres that enable our global trading.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of financial data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, and operational nuances, a passion for new technologies, and a focus on maintaining an organised environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to travel, troubleshoot, and make a significant impact on my client's data centre infrastructure, ensure its stability and efficiency, and work with cutting‑edge technology to build and extend their competitive advantages.

Responsibilities
  • Support and improve inventory management and logistics within regional warehouses and data centres
  • Assist with hardware forecasting and procurement
  • Travel to data centres in the Greater London area and EMEA region and implement planned changes and break‑fix tasks
  • Contribute to aligning and improving documentation and data centre standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to ensure infrastructure availability
Requirements
  • Understanding of data centre infrastructure, power distribution, and rack / device cooling principles
  • Knowledge of copper and fibre cabling standards and nuances
  • Ability to assemble servers from scratch using components
  • Strong self‑management skills, independent work ethic, and an ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities in a time‑sensitive environment
  • An understanding of power planning and the ability to calculate usage and plan capacity is preferred
