We are looking for a hands‑on, detail‑driven Data Centre Technician to support the day‑to‑day operations of our mission‑critical infrastructure on a 12 month contract. You’ll be responsible for maintaining hardware, monitoring systems and ensuring uptime across our data centre environment. This role suits someone who’s technically adept, safety‑conscious and thrives in a fast‑paced, physically active setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, network equipment, and cabling
• Perform routine hardware checks, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
• Monitor environmental controls (cooling, power, humidity) and respond to alerts
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues, escalating when necessary
• Manage inventory of equipment and spare parts
• Support remote hands requests and coordinate with internal teams and vendors
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security protocols
• Document procedures, incidents, and asset movements accurately

Requirements

• Experience in a data centre or IT hardware support role (1–3 years preferred)
• Strong understanding of server hardware, networking basics, and cabling standards
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote monitoring tools
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 25kg) and work in physically demanding environments
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends if required
• Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or DC‑specific training are a plus
