Job summary

Reboot Monkey in Manchester, United Kingdom, is seeking a Data Center Technician to support critical infrastructure at our on-site facilities. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring hands-on work with servers, networking gear, and cabling in a demanding data center environment.

You will install, configure, and maintain equipment, monitor power and cooling, document assets, and collaborate with engineering and operations to plan capacity upgrades.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience.
• Expert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber).
• Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Cisco) preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, JNCIA) preferred.
• ITIL knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.

• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.

Compensation & Benefits

£30,000-40,000/year (annual)

Work Schedule

• Full-time permanent position
• Standard business hours with on-call rotation
• Shift differentials for nights/weekends when applicable

Key Responsibilities
