Job summary

Sustainable Infrastructure in Blyth, United Kingdom, seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major data centre project. This on-site, full-time role offers early-career QS exposure to tendering, cost control, subcontract management and final accounts as part of a large-scale, technically complex construction program.

You will support senior QS by managing subcontract packages, preparing budgets, reviewing tenders and assisting with valuations, variations and cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years' relevant Quantity Surveying experience in construction.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with CostX, Buildsoft or similar software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team with subcontractor management and cost reporting.
• Assist with valuations, variations, tender analysis and final accounts.
• Prepare tender documentation, work packages and procurement activities.
• Analyse subcontractor tender returns and administer documentation.
• Assist with monthly valuations, payments and cost reporting.
• Support cost/value reporting and cash flow forecasts.
• Assist with external valuations and commercial close-out.
• Liaise with subcontractors, clients and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
