About the Role

We're looking for a Network DC Engineer. This role will be responsible for the physical installation, configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure in our data centres. You will work closely with the Datacenter Deployment Design Engineers to implement network solutions that support our high-performance GPU cloud services. The role involves hands-on work with network equipment, structured cabling and documentation of network installations.

What You’ll be Doing

Physical installation of network equipment in data centres

  • Installing and configuring switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Cable management and implementation
  • Ensuring installations meet company standards and best practices

Network connectivity and testing

  • Implementing and testing network connections
  • Configuring and testing optics, AOC, and DAC connections
  • Verifying network performance meets required specifications

Documentation and inventory management

  • Creating and maintaining accurate network documentation
  • Updating CMDB tools with new installations and changes
  • Managing inventory of network equipment and parts

Quality assurance and standards compliance

  • Ensuring all installations meet quality standards
  • Validating power and cooling requirements are met
  • Performing post-installation testing and verification

Collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Working with Design Engineers to implement planned layouts
  • Coordinating with data center facility teams
  • Supporting migration activities and hardware refreshes

Troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Diagnosing and resolving network hardware issues
  • Performing preventive maintenance on installed equipment
  • Supporting incident resolution for critical network issues

About you

  • Experience in deploying high-quality network infrastructure, ensuring efficiency and reliability in data centres.
  • Hands-on experience with installing and configuring network equipment, including switches, routers and firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of cable management, network connectivity, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Proficiency in configuring and testing optics, AOC and DAC connections, verifying network performance.
  • Experience in documenting network installations and inventory management, including updating CMDB tools.
  • A track record of ensuring quality assurance and compliance, validating power, cooling and performance standards.
  • Familiarity with collaborating across teams, working with Design Engineers and facility teams to implement layouts.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining network hardware, including preventive maintenance and incident resolution.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement, refining installation processes and best practices to enhance scalability.

Please Note: This role will require 20-30% travel to our European sites.

We're currently working remotely, but plan to transition to a hybrid working model in 2025 as we look to secure a modern office space in London.
