Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their project delivery team in Northumberland. You will oversee mechanical installations, ensure safety, schedule, and quality across site with subcontractors and the project team.

The role offers UK-wide mobility with fully covered accommodation, mileage, and a weekly net allowance; ideal for candidates with 3+ years in mechanical construction, particularly data-centre projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical construction.
• Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, piping and building services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mechanical site activities with subcontractors and project team.
• Review drawings, specifications and submittals for project alignment.
• Support QA/QC processes, perform installation checks and snagging.
• Monitor progress and report to senior management on programme status.
• Liaise with design team to request and resolve technical queries.
• Maintain up-to-date project documentation including safety records and submittals.
• Assist commercial management by tracking variations and progress claims.
• Represent the mechanical team in site meetings and reviews.
