Job summary

Matchtech invites applications for an ELV Lead / BMS Controls Engineer to join a major data centre project team in Northumberland. The role encompasses ownership of delivery, site coordination and commissioning of BMS and ELV systems through to handover.

UK-wide applicants are welcome with accommodation, mileage cover, and a weekly net allowance provided. The position requires on-site work in Northumberland and a strong track record in BMS/ELV environments.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
• Proven experience delivering BMS/ELV on large-scale data centres or mission-critical projects.
• Deep understanding of Building Automation Systems, controls integration, schematics, and commissioning workflows.
• Experience managing multi-vendor environments and interpreting complex submittals.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end delivery of BMS and ELV packages through installation to commissioning and client sign-off.
• Chair BMS workshops with design teams and controls providers; review drawings, RFIs, submittals.
• Act as primary technical contact for system vendors; resolve on-site issues.
• Represent the controls package at daily coordination meetings.
• Review Level 3 testing outputs and QA/QC; inspect installations.
• Manage and upload commissioning records and RAG updates to the digital portal.
• Participate in commissioning reviews and vendor strategy meetings.
