Job summary
James Lewis Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a brand-new data centre liquid cooling system. This static, site-based role offers 12-hour shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern and a £60,000 base salary plus package, with opportunities to work on a ground-floor installation. You will maintain and support the new system, perform planned and reactive maintenance, monitor performance, and follow strict health and safety procedures in a live, critical environment.
Qualifications
Data centre experience is essential.
Strong mechanical engineering background in cooling systems.
Qualified trade (NVQ/City & Guilds/HNC/HND) or equivalent.
Willing to work 12-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
Maintain and support a brand-new liquid cooling system, with training provided.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and cooling infrastructure.
Monitor system performance, respond to alarms and faults, and perform first-line diagnostics.
Complete routine inspections, PPMs and statutory checks.
Maintain maintenance records and comply with safety procedures.
Escalate with subcontractors or OEM support as needed.
