Job Overview

Are you an experienced data centre engineer with field engineering expertise seeking your next challenge? Our client manages network POP sites globally and operates a data centre in central London and internationally. The role involves joining a small, friendly team based at their London data centre and office, with on-call duties once every four weeks. Approximately 60% of your time will be spent at the City-based data centre, with the rest on field engineering projects across Europe or globally. The role is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, excluding on-call weeks.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is £35,000 - £38,000, plus a £6,000 car allowance and a £4,250 on-call allowance, paid monthly as fixed amounts. Additional benefits include free parking, a suitable company car, UK work and travel visas, 25 days holiday plus your birthday and public holidays, health and dental insurance, pension scheme, and social events.

Responsibilities

• Faulting, installing, and commissioning equipment in a data centre environment up to at least 2nd line support level:
• Installing and commissioning SDH networks
• Managing equipment such as Juniper / BTI Transmission network gear (MX / ACX / BTI7200 / BTI 7060)
• Installing and commissioning Ethernet, CWDM, and DWDM networks
• Handling Cisco switches and routers
• Power systems installation and commissioning (rectifiers, PDU’s, ATS switches)
• First-line support for Data Centre M&E equipment (UPS, AHU, generators, switchgear)
• Proficiency with MS Office, Visio, O365, CAD, Teams

Additional Requirements

Must have a valid UK visa, reside within a two-hour drive of London, and possess a suitable car for site visits.

Salary Range

Including allowances, £45,000 - £48,000 monthly fixed pay. The company offers 25 holiday days, plus extra days for birthdays, health and dental insurance, pension, and social events.

Additional Tasks

• Monitoring, fault diagnosis, and repair of CSC faults and M&E equipment
• Maintaining site records, hardware stock checks, and reporting
