Job description

  • On site role at Pulsant’s Fareham data centre
  • Shift pattern: 12 hour shifts, days and nights (6am-6pm/6pm-6am) 4 shifts on, then 4 shifts off

The Role:

The Data Centre Engineer will manage, maintain and/or operate all electrical & mechanical systems across Pulsant’s Fareham data centre. This role will also support the Facilities Team in maintaining critical data centre hardware including (but not limited to) racks, cold aisle components, cooling systems and generators. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with critical infrastructure, supporting a T3+ Data Centre.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support best practice and best in class M+E methodology, ensuring rigorous and effectivemaintenance regimens are performed and maintained
  • Provide data reporting to Facilities Management.
  • Provide proactive risk assessments and report any potential threats to service delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement in organisation, productivity and quality within Facilities team.
  • Work with Security to maintain and administer access control, escort third party engineers on site
  • and provide best practice advice on any cable installations undertaken
  • Build strong relationships with other internal teams across SCC to promote and deliver quality DC services.
  • Liaise with Incident, Problem and Change Teams and the wider DC Facilities teams to ensure Data Centre infrastructure changes are successful.
  • Build relationships with our suppliers to gain knowledge of plant and equipment and keep up to date on M+E technology improvements.
  • HV & LV AP responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

  • Time served electrical engineer
  • Experience of operating in an industrial and / or critical environment
  • Mechanical experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in some of the following would be advantageous but not essential:
  • L.V. switching
  • HVAC Systems
  • UPS Circuitry
  • Generators
  • BMS Systems
  • Fire Preventative Systems
