Job summary

Jane Street is seeking an experienced Data Centre Engineer to help keep our data safe and accessible around the clock. You will work hands-on in our data and colocation centres, apply data centre best practices and collaborate with Network, Server, Facilities Engineering, Market Data and Trading teams.

This role involves designing deployments, coordinating logistics, installing and configuring server OS in PXE environments, and ensuring security, cleanliness and supply management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a data centre environment
• Self-starter with initiative and proactive mindset
• Clear communicator with strong people and project management skills
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals; routing/switching, Layer 2/3
• Proficiency in Linux; Bash or Python scripting a plus
• Experience deploying server and network hardware (Dell, Cisco, Arista, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Design plans for new equipment deployments using data centre best practices
• Coordinate procurement, shipping and inventory across locations
• Install and configure server OS in a PXE environment (Linux knowledge required)
• Install, cable, configure and troubleshoot network and server hardware
• Ensure data centres uphold high standards for security, organisation, documentation, safety and supply management
