Job Overview
Support operations control room monitoring of critical site infrastructure and escalate issues effectively. Provide first-line response to breakdowns of infrastructure plant, equipment, and systems.
Main Duties
- Monitor and control the operation of cooling, power, and other critical systems according to standards.
- Execute emergency repairs and respond to incidents.
- Perform rounds and inspections to monitor equipment health.
- Analyze facility data for trends and develop action plans for optimization.
- Maintain clear operations procedures, logs, and use Work Notification systems.
- Regularly clean equipment and handle chemicals safely.
- Work effectively as part of a team or independently, taking ownership of issues and escalating when necessary.
- Communicate well with technical engineers and subcontractors.
- Assist with Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive responses.
- Support visiting subcontractors related to PPM or reactive schedules.
- Participate in handover processes, ensuring logs and records are accurate.
- Create ad hoc reports using system data on various topics.
Requirements
- At least 1 year experience in data center or critical environments.
- Technical skills, fault diagnosis, and organization.
- Computer literacy, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
- Adaptability to changing work demands.
- Understanding of BMS/PMS systems.
- Qualification in building services mechanical/electrical engineering (City & Guilds).
- 18th Edition IEE registration.
- Knowledge of UPS, Diesel Generators, Plumbing, HVAC, Refrigeration.
- Proficient IT skills and familiarity with CAFM systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and learn new systems quickly.
