Job summary

Reboot Monkey in Wirral, UK is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to join our on-site team for a full-time role supporting mission-critical facilities. You will install, decommission, and migrate hardware, perform structured cabling, rack servers, and manage patch panels while maintaining thorough documentation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in data centers or IT infrastructure, strong cable skills (Cat5e/6/6a, fiber), experience with Dell/HP/Supermicro servers, and familiarity

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Familiarity with DCIM and ticketing systems is preferred.
• Professional communication in English; able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
