Role Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I

Location: London, UK

Job Description

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across departments to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing extensive capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

This position serves as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for a data center.

The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT supports mission-critical servers and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
• Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, rack power installations, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Follow all safety procedures during work
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
• Use internal CMMS to manage workflows and spare parts inventory
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
• Respond to emergency calls outside normal hours as per on-call rotation
• Comply with all physical security procedures and policies
