You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across departments to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

This engineering operations technician position serves as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for the data centre.

The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data centre. The EOT supports mission-critical servers and equipment.

Key job responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs
• Perform limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Adhere to all safety procedures during work
• Take daily operational readings of equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
• Use internal CMMS to manage workflows and spare parts
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
• Respond to emergency calls during on-call shifts
• Follow all security procedures and policies
