Role Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I

Job Description

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with these teams to deliver high standards of safety and security while providing maximum capacity at minimal cost for our customers.

This position is for an engineering operations technician serving as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for a data center.

The Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT supports mission-critical servers and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
• Perform maintenance tasks such as filter changes, HVAC preventive maintenance, rack power installations, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
• Support Data Centre Operations technicians
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Adhere to all safety procedures during work
• Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
• Manage building workflows and spare parts using internal CMMS
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
• Respond to emergency calls during on-call rotations for regional sites
• Follow all physical security procedures and policies
