At Severn Trent, data plays a vital role in helping us deliver an exceptional service to our customers, protect sensitive information and make informed decisions for the future. We're looking for a Technology Data Assurance Team Lead to join our Office of Data and take ownership of a critical function that helps ensure we manage personal data responsibly, transparently and securely.
In this role, you'll lead our Data Assurance team, providing governance, oversight and continuous improvement across a range of important activities, including Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), information rights, statutory exemption management, system access assurance and mandatory compliance obligations.
Leading a team of four specialist analysts, you'll shape and mature our approach to data assurance, ensuring robust processes are in place while driving high standards of service, risk management and regulatory compliance. You'll work collaboratively across the business, building trusted relationships and helping colleagues understand and meet their responsibilities when it comes to data and information management.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about data governance, enjoys leading teams and wants to play a key role in protecting the trust our customers place in us every day.
You'll join a caring culture that collaborates to achieve, grow, and develop. Our employee engagement scores are among the highest globally in energy and utilities. That's why, we value in-person moments to keep our culture alive but also understand the flexibility working from home can bring. So, you'll usually find us in the office, but working from home is supported, when you need it.
You'll have experience of system access governance and access recertification, along with a good understanding of information security frameworks and internal audit practices. If you've worked in a regulated environment such as utilities, financial services, healthcare or the public sector, even better. Managing complex DSARs and other data subject rights requests end to end, including redaction and exemption application would be a requirement for the role.
Just as importantly, you'll bring a customer-first mindset, strong communication skills and a passion for delivering a great colleague experience every day. Whether you're supporting a frontline operational team, a corporate office or a critical business function, you'll take pride in providing a professional, reliable and friendly service.
It's not just a job; it's a career. We offer benefits that reward great work and award-winning training to help you reach your potential. Plus, you'll contribute to the environment and community too. Here are some of our favourites:
