Job summary

Granite Recruitment and Consulting Limited in Bristol is seeking a Data Architect / Senior Data Engineer to own the architecture of two data platforms within a growing SaaS company.

The role focuses on a brand-new internal BI Snowflake-based platform and a SQL-based customer-facing platform, offering opportunities to shape architecture and enable AI capabilities.

You will need strong communication with stakeholders and be ready to step up from Data Engineer to Data Architect.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing data platforms and architectures.
• Strong SQL, ELT/ETL design, and data modelling abilities.
• Experience implementing data governance and quality controls.
• Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of two data platforms (Snowflake-based internal BI and a SQL-based customer-facing system).
• Lead the design and evolution of data platforms; influence data strategy across teams.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, and product stakeholders to enable AI capabilities.
• Drive data architecture improvements and governance across the data team.

Bristol / Hybrid - £65,000 - £80,000

A fantastic opportunity for a Data Architect / Senior Data Engineer to join a growing SaaS company in Bristol, with an initial responsibility of owning the architecture of two data platforms.

The initial priority will be a brand new internal BI Snowflake based platform. Snowflake is new to the company, so you will help to build Snowflake knowledge and capabilities across the data team.

The second is a SQL based customer facing platform which needs evolving - you will have the chance to shape its architecture from the ground up, and help it support AI capabilities.

It would suit a technical individual with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The role offers the chance to not just own the architecture of two data platforms, but to help shape the growing architecture function.

You will likely have the following skills / experience:

• Data architecture on Snowflake
• Strong SQL and ELT / ETL knowledge
• Strong understanding of data governance
• Stakeholder management, and communicating technical ideas to non-technical people
• Currently working as a Data Architect, or a Data Engineer looking to step up

The company are based in central Bristol and work on a hybrid basis, with two days a week in the office.
