Job Title: *Data Architect (Contract)*
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: Initial 3 months
Rate: Up to £450 per day (Inside IR35)
Client: Local Government / Council

Greenrich is looking for an experienced Data Architect to support a public sector (Council) client on a critical data transformation initiative. This fully remote, 3-month contract role will focus on designing and delivering strategic AS-IS and TO-BE data models, improving data governance through the implementation of data lineage, data catalogs, and semantic data models.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and document AS-IS and TO-BE data models to support business and IT strategy.
• Develop and maintain semantic data models for enterprise-wide use.
• Define and document data lineage and flows across systems.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of data catalogs to improve data discovery and governance.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and data owners to capture and validate data requirements.
• Provide expertise in data architecture best practices and ensure alignment with data standards and compliance requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in enterprise data architecture, ideally within public sector or council environments.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with:
○ AS-IS and TO-BE data modeling
○ Data lineage documentation
○ Data catalogs implementation and maintenance
○ Semantic data modeling
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
• Experience working in agile delivery environments.
