We’re partnering with a leading global insurance group to recruit an experienced Data Architect for a major data transformation initiative. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned contractor with deep expertise in the London Market insurance sector and a passion for building robust, scalable data architectures using modern cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and lead the implementation of data architectures aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Champion best practices in data modelling, ensuring consistency and scalability across the enterprise.
Play a critical role in the build-out and optimisation of a Medallion architecture using Databricks and the Azure data platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Govern and enhance the overall data platform, ensuring high data quality, lineage, and performance.

Requirements:

Proven experience in London Market insurance data environments – essential.
Strong background in data architecture, particularly within Azure ecosystems (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory).
Hands-on expertise with Databricks and implementing Medallion architecture patterns.
Advanced data modelling capabilities, with experience across operational and analytical domains.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
