Job summary

Infinigate Group seeks a highly experienced Data Architect to shape the future of data and AI capabilities. You will design scalable, secure data architectures powering analytics, automation and AI, while guiding governance and data strategy across engineering and analytics teams.

Hybrid role across Fareham, London, Woking or South Cerney with 3 days in office, 2 days from home. Strong leadership and enterprise data modelling experience required.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and data modelling skills with enterprise data structures.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure Synapse, Snowflake).
• Ability to design lakehouse and data warehouse architectures and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of enterprise data architecture supporting BI, analytics, automation and AI.
• Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models for domains and analytics platforms.
• Define data integration patterns and data movement approaches for batch and streaming data.
• Establish governance, metadata, lineage, security and privacy standards with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers and product owners to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Provide architectural leadership through reviews, standards and guidance.

Role Purpose

Join Infinigate Group as a Data Architect and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data and AI capabilities. Working within our innovative AI & Data team, you’ll design scalable, secure data architectures that power analytics, automation and AI, while helping drive business-wide data strategy and transformation.

We're looking for a highly experienced Data Architect with deep expertise in modern cloud data platforms, data modelling and enterprise architecture. You’ll have a proven track record of designing scalable lakehouse and data warehouse solutions, establishing governance frameworks, and creating trusted data assets that drive business value. Comfortable operating as a technical leader, you’ll influence architectural direction, champion best practices across engineering and analytics teams, and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-assisted tooling, to deliver innovative, resilient and future‑ready data solutions.

We are pleased to offer this permanent opportunity as a fulltime role based hybrid from one of our 4 office locations (Fareham, London, Woking or South Cerney) – 3 days in office, 2 working from home.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of enterprise data architecture that supports business intelligence, analytics, automation and AI use cases
• Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models for core business domains, data products, reporting layers and analytical platforms
• Define data integration patterns, data flow designs and reusable architecture standards for batch, streaming, API-based and event-driven data movement
• Establish data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, security and privacy standards in partnership with engineering, governance and business stakeholders
• Collaborate with data engineers, analytics engineers, product owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable and secure data solutions
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design documentation, data standards, reference patterns and guidance for delivery teams

General Skills

• Strong SQL, data modelling and data platform skills, with practical experience designing schemas, semantic layers, dimensional models and enterprise data structures
• Hands‑on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Snowflake or comparable cloud data technologies
• Experience designing lakehouse, data warehouse, data mart and data product architectures that support trusted analytics and operational reporting
• Ability to define metadata, lineage, master data, reference data and data quality approaches that improve trust, discoverability and reuse of data assets
• Experience using Databricks, Spark and lakehouse concepts for scalable data storage, transformation, governance and analytical consumption
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Purview or comparable cloud‑based data architecture and governance services
• Experience with engineering practices including Git, automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, documentation and operational monitoring for data platforms
• Ability to use AI‑assisted development and documentation tools responsibly to improve architecture design, productivity and knowledge sharing
• Proven track record delivering data architecture, data platform or enterprise data management solutions in production environments
• Ability to analyse complex, ambiguous business problems and translate them into practical data architecture approaches

• £80,000 - £100,000 salary per annum
• 25 days annual leave rising to 28 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.
