Job summary

COMX PS LTD is seeking a data modelling professional to work on enterprise data warehouse documentation, data cataloguing, and modelling tasks. The role requires experience with large, complex data environments and a solid understanding of data modelling concepts.

The contractor will engage with Sparks enterprise architecture and related tooling. The role is Birmingham-based with a minimum of three days on-site per week, and there may be some travel to London.

Qualifications

• Experience of data modelling tools.
• Experience working in complex organisations (public sector/government/constructions/finance/telecoms) with large data sets.
• Understanding of data modelling concepts (not a data engineer or full-stack data architect).

Responsibilities

• Document and refresh data models for the enterprise data warehouse with updated diagrams and version control.
• Catalogue data assets with data category management and document flows to Sparks or Orbus iserver.
• Support projects with conceptual data models and subsequent entity-relationship modelling, ensuring logical and physical data integrity.

Pay rate to Umbrella: £please contact directly for full day rates.

Security Clearance: BPSS

Contract Length: Until end of March 2027 - there is likely to be scope to extend

Location: BIRMINGHAM min 3 days per week on site (would also look at candidates London based to travel but note no further scope to increase the rate for London candidates)

1. Experience of data modelling tools
2. Experience working in complex organisations - Public sector/government/constructions/finance/telecoms with large complex amounts of data (does not have to be pub sector)
3. Need to have experience of the conceptual understanding of data modelling. They are not looking for a data engineer or full stack data architects

Experience with Sparks enterprise architecture.

The role will be looking at 3 things:

• 1st initiative is refresh of documenting data models that they have for enterprise data warehouse, parts of these are very out of data. They can use reverse engineering tools but needs to be redocumented with fresh diagrams and version control processes and how to guides sent to people that use SPARKS enterprise architect.
• 2nd is data cataloguing working with data category management looking at data architect documenting in excel and documenting where it flows to in terms applications in Sparks or Orbus iserver (tbc on which yet)
• 3rd is supporting other projects which will need conceptual data models and then smaller entity relationship modelling and assurance of physical and logical data.
