Job summary

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Data and Performance Officer in Ripley to turn data into actionable insights. You’ll support performance reporting, data quality improvements, and respond to information requests, enabling evidence-based decisions across Prevention, Protection, and Support Services.

You will analyse trends, produce statistical analyses, and help ensure GDPR compliance while using SQL and Power BI tools to deliver robust management information.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data and performance information.
  • Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to varying audiences.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Power BI desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the production and ongoing development of performance dashboards, reports and management information.
  • Analyse data trends and performance across Prevention, Protection, Response and Support Services.
  • Produce statistical analysis to support strategic decision making.
  • Respond to information requests, including Freedom of Information requests.
  • Support data quality, governance, GDPR compliance and NFCC Fire Data Management Standard implementation.
  • Extract, validate and report data using SQL and reporting tools.

Location: Ripley

Salary: £34,237 - £38,510 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

About the Role

Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insight? We're looking for a proactive and analytical Data and Performance Officer to support performance reporting, data quality improvement, responding accurately to frequent information requests, and to undertake analysis to support evidence-based decision making across Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.

What you’ll do
  • Support the production and ongoing development of performance dashboards, reports and management information.

  • Relevant analytical qualification or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • HNC/Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) /BTEC or relevant demonstrable experience and training, with significant analytical or statistical element

There will be a requirement for some travel for which a pool car will be provided.
