Job summary

Foodbuy, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is seeking a Data & Insight Analyst to lead analytics delivery and mentor a small team. The role focuses on turning data into actionable business insights and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.

The position offers a hybrid arrangement with two onsite days and a strong emphasis on shaping data-driven decision making across healthcare, education, hospitality and business sectors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics or BI
• Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Redshift, Databricks)
• Proven track record in building impactful data visualisations (Power BI)
• Strong understanding of statistical modelling, predictive analytics and ML
• Experience leading or mentoring analysts
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Data & Insight Analyst
Location: Chertsey (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

We’re now looking for a Data & Insight Analyst to join our growing Analytics team, playing a key role in shaping how data and insight drive decision‑making across the business.

The Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining advanced analytics with team leadership. You’ll take ownership of key insight delivery, lead a small team of analysts, and partner with senior stakeholders to translate data into meaningful commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Power BI models, dashboards and reporting solutions
• Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns and opportunities
• Build and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning models
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to shape data pipelines
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of analysts
• Work closely with senior leaders and business functions to deliver insight‑led solutions
• Present clear, actionable insights to both technical and non-technical audiences

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in data science, analytics or business intelligence (typically 10+ years)
