A leading hedge fund is seeking to recruit a data analyst responsible for back office pricing and time series data for trading, modelling, and analysis. The role involves working closely with other departments within Management & Control to ensure accuracy and best practices in security valuation, compliance, and risk management.

Main Responsibilities

1. Contribute to evaluating and enhancing processes and technologies to improve data accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
2. Engage regularly with users of financial data to identify, access, and query series of interest within internal and third-party databases, including Trading, Global Research, Middle Office, Risk, and Compliance teams.
3. Determine detailed specifications and resource requirements for new projects or data-related changes, coordinating prioritization and approval with relevant groups.
4. Test data content for quality assurance and review/approve for production release.
5. Evaluate potential data sources and associated costs/resources when new data services are needed.
6. Collaborate with the offshore Data Operations team to oversee processes such as cross-checking, verifying, and updating security and economic data.
7. Serve as an escalation point for Level II requests from the Data Operations team.

Experience Required

1. A BA/BS degree in a STEM field, with a focus on Data, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis, or other quantitative disciplines.
2. At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within an investment firm or a financial data-related organization (e.g., data vendor, auditor, government agency), with a solid understanding of data quality management, data architecture, and business intelligence.
3. Proficiency in Python, including knowledge of packages like NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn, and a willingness to learn more.
4. Strong SQL skills, familiarity with Unix, and experience with scheduling tools such as Tidal and Airflow.
5. Good understanding of various asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Commodities.
