Job summary

Howden Insurance (Ireland) Limited in Cheltenham is recruiting a Data Analyst Apprentice as part of our 2027 intake. You will join a permanent role from day one while completing an 18-month development programme, gaining real experience and building skills that will shape your future.

You’ll work with Data Science and Analytics teams, using Power BI, SQL and Python to turn data into insights that drive business decisions. Office-based with in-office 3-4 days per week and commuting distance.

Qualifications

• No prior insurance experience required; training provided.
• Able to work with data, numbers and apply logical thinking to problems.
• Strong problem-solver who spots patterns and practical solutions.
• Detail-oriented, checks information for errors.
• Clear and confident communicator.
• Collaborates with colleagues across the business.
• Organised and capable of juggling multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to data analytics and data science; learn how analysis, reporting and data models solve business problems.
• Support live data projects for Retail areas.
• Analyse datasets to identify patterns, trends, gaps or unusual results.
• Clean, organise and check data for accuracy and reliability.
• Turn findings into clear reports for key stakeholders.
• Build technical skills using Power BI, SQL and Python.
