Babcock International in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, is seeking a Data Analyst to turn complex engineering and operational data into actionable insights. You'll work with the Digital Solutions team, partners and stakeholders to identify trends, support decision-making and deliver data-driven solutions that improve performance.

This role offers exposure to defence programmes, opportunities to develop technical skills, and a culture that values continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for data manipulation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with large datasets.
• Ability to translate data insights into actionable business decisions.
• Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.

The Role

As a Data Analyst, you'll play an important role within our Digital Solutions team, transforming complex engineering and operational data into meaningful insights that support better decision-making across the business. Working alongside customers, stakeholders and the wider Data Exploitation Team, you'll help identify trends, solve business challenges and develop data-driven solutions that improve performance.

What you’ll do:

• Gathering, analysing and interpreting data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
• Delivering analytical support and insights for projects undertaken by the Data Exploitation Team.
• Creating reports, dashboards and data visualisations that clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborating with customers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Supporting data quality, validation activities and continuous improvement of analytical processes and tools.

What you’ll need:

• Experience working in a Data Analyst or similar analytical role.
• Strong coding capability using Python and/or SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex datasets.
• Experience using data to identify trends and support business decision-making.
• Ability to communicate analytical outputs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related discipline.
