Role Overview
Responsible for owning and managing the quality of the company's smart meter data, identifying and resolving issues, and providing information to stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
The role holder must have:
- Experience and skill in managing and analysing large data sets, with working knowledge of Power BI and/or analytical software tools such as Alteryx, SSMS, or equivalent.
- A high level of organisation, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex processes.
- Ability to work thoroughly and accurately, with patience and tenacity to identify and address root causes of issues.
- Experience in using Microsoft SharePoint for content management (desirable).
- An understanding of Electricity Distributor functions.
- An open approach to new and innovative ideas.
Due to the sensitive nature of some data, the role requires undertaking enhanced security vetting.
Principal Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on current levels of assets within the Smart estate.
- Manage the enrolment of new smart meters into the system.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve issues with devices not processed via auto-enrolment.
- Issue commands to update specific features of Smart devices.
- Review and report regularly to track volumes and promptly address irregularities.
- Analyze enrolment and service request failures to identify common themes.
- Monitor smart meter behaviours and proactively identify issues:
- Monitor and analyse responses to Service Requests.
- Monitor and analyse incoming Alerts.
- Identify non-responsive meters, raise incidents with DCC and/or Suppliers.
- Collaborate with Suppliers and DCC to find resolutions and workarounds.
- Act as the business owner for the Smart Meter System.
- Raise incidents for issues with the Smart Systems and develop key metrics and analytic views to manage the growing device estate, projected to reach approximately 2.4 million meters.
Key Performance Indicators
- Resolution rate of smart meter issues.
- Volume of fully enrolled smart meters.
- Compliance with ADT warnings and breaches.
- Timeliness and accuracy of management information and new use case data.
