Job summary

Harnham in the United Kingdom is seeking a Data Analyst to support workforce analytics, policy-friendly insights and decision-making. You will build complex Excel models to forecast workforce and financial outcomes, and translate business questions into rigorous analytical specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver workforce, pay, and reward analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain complex Excel-based models to forecast workforce and financial outcomes.
  • Develop cost modelling for pay proposals, policy changes, and workforce initiatives.
  • Create scenario analysis and long-term forecasts incorporating variables such as workforce growth, attrition, and inflation.
  • Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Translate business and policy questions into analytical specifications and modelling frameworks.
  • Produce clear reports and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Present findings and analytical insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with policy teams and external stakeholders to support evidence-based decisions.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of analytical methodologies and best practices.

REMOTE (ONE DAY A MONTH IN LEEDS OFFICE)

This is an opportunity to join a highly respected organisation at the intersection of workforce strategy, analytics, and policy. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping evidence-based decisions that influence workforce planning, pay frameworks, and long-term organisational strategy. You'll work on complex analytical challenges whilst engaging with a broad range of senior stakeholders.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Data Analyst will:

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including building complex models from scratch.
  • Experience using formulas, Pivot Tables, charts, VBA, and macros.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving capability.
  • Experience modelling complex business, workforce, or financial scenarios.
  • The ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • A STEM degree, ideally within mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
