Job summary

AstraZeneca seeks a senior leader to own Data & AI risk governance and advisory, shaping risk posture at scale across regulatory and data protection regimes. You will partner with Legal, Privacy, Cyber, and business units to translate complex AI risk into decisive, proportionate actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is required.
• Extensive experience in risk management, assurance, governance or second-line oversight.
• Proven ability to translate complex data/AI risks into pragmatic decisions.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional delivery across matrix teams.
• Experience advising on risk appetite, mitigation, escalation and acceptance.
• Working knowledge of US/EU data protection, AI governance, GDPR and related regimes.
• Experience with governance forums, executive reporting and risk indicators.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative, enablement-focused mindset with change leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide trusted risk advisory across Data & AI risks to stakeholders.
• Lead governance and analysis across regulatory compliance and AI risk areas.
• Project manage cross-functional initiatives including standards, controls and regulatory programmes.
• Improve risk posture with clear narratives, dashboards, and insights.
• Engage stakeholders to understand risk exposure and drive remediation.
• Lead risk aggregation, analysis and reporting for Enterprise Risk Management.
• Facilitate risk assessments, workshops and decision forums for complex use cases.
• Synthesize issues into executive-ready narratives; anticipate concerns.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Cyber, Data Offices and business functions.
• Deliver integrated outcomes across policy, controls, assurance and reporting.
