Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Director, Clinical AI to lead the AI methodology agenda across clinical programmes. You will influence cross-functional teams, shape regulatory-aligned AI strategies, and advance enterprise AI methods for late-stage drug development.

You will work across BioPharmaceuticals to implement scalable AI solutions, collaborate with biometrics, regulatory, and study teams, and contribute to scientific publications while guiding teams to high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• PhD with strong hands-on computational track record.
• 4–8 years post-PhD in AI/ML with impact in clinical/biomedical/drug development.
• Experience with biology data (molecular, imaging, clinical text).
• Regulatory submissions experience involving AI/ML methods or innovative trial designs.

Responsibilities

• Define AI methodology roadmap for Clinical AI programmes and align with clinical objectives.
• Lead complex AI projects from problem definition to regulatory alignment and scaled adoption.
• Develop reusable enterprise AI methods and evaluation frameworks for clinical trial settings.
