CPI Data Administrator / Collector – 2 Days per month
A CPI data administrator / collector is responsible for collecting the prices of specific items on a monthly basis in a selection of retail premises across a dedicated town or city. This important work impacts every industry in the country and is conducted on two set days each month—always a Monday and Tuesday—with a potential for a short collection on a Friday in some areas.
CPI Collectors work approximately 12-15 hours over these two days per month. It may take longer initially while you are learning store layouts.
If you are over 18, have a vehicle and a valid UK driving licence, and want to earn money while visiting shops, then this role is suitable for you!
From April 2024: £13.44 per hour (£12.00 per hour + £1.44 holiday pay) outside London, plus travel expenses.
We will provide comprehensive fully-paid training to help you succeed in this role.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is responsible for producing the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), the UK's most-used measure of inflation, which affects benefits, pensions, etc. Collectors from Verian gather prices of goods and services from a wide range of items in over 200 towns and cities across the UK. The ONS compares these prices over time to monitor inflation.
