Are you a hands-on engineering technologist with a passion for precision and performance? We’re seeking an experienced Damper Build Engineer to join a dynamic team in Gaydon, supporting the development of bespoke and prototype damper systems across a range of cutting-edge technologies.
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Contract Type: Contract (Double Day-Shift Pattern)
? Key Responsibilities:
• Build and assemble bespoke/prototype dampers to exacting specifications.
• Support engineers in the design, modification, and improvement of damper systems and related processes.
• Conduct testing, inspection, and data analysis using rating measurement equipment.
• Recommend and implement process improvements and preventive actions.
• Work independently on complex tasks and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
• Proven experience in damper build engineering, ideally within automotive OEM, motorsport, or specialist suppliers.
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with damper rating and measurement systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable working on a double day-shift pattern.
• Excellent problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
? Education & Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a relevant engineering environment.
• Engineering degree or formal technical training is desirable.
• Willingness to complete a mechanical trial/skills test involving damper hand-build.
Senior Professional (P3) – expected to manage processes independently and coach junior staff.
