Job summary

James Andrews Recruitment is partnering with housing associations in Greater Manchester to recruit damp and mould surveyors on a temporary basis. The position starts immediately with potential for extension and offers an hourly rate negotiable up to £35 via Umbrella.

The role involves performing up to ten surveys daily in domestic properties, ensuring compliance with Awaab's Law and HHSRS, and producing work specifications for internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in damp and mould surveying of domestic properties.
• Knowledge of Awaab's Law and HHSRS requirements.
• Must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Carry out up to ten surveys per day relating to day-to-day maintenance and responsive repairs.
• Create specifications of work for internal operatives and contractors.
• Carry out pre- and post inspections on the work of operatives.
• Diagnose root causes of damp and mould issues.
• Create specifications of work and raise SORs on internal systems.

Job description

We are currently working in partnership with Multiple Housing Associations based in Greater Manchester and surrounding areas, who are recruiting for damp and mould surveyors on a temporary contract. These positions are due to start immediately, with the potential to be extended. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £35 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will experience in damp and mould surveying and have a full UK driving licence.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying out up to ten surveys per day relating to day-to-day maintenance and responsive repairs
• Completing surveys in line with Awaab's Law Phase one and two and HHSRS
• Creating specifications of work for internal operatives and contractors
• Carrying out pre and post inspections on the work of operatives
• Diagnosing root causes of various types of damp and mould
• Creating specifications of work and raising SORs on internal systems

Experience required:

• Experience required Awaab's Law
• Experience in identifying root causes of various types of damp and mould
• Experience in damp and mould surveying within domestic properties

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• A strong understanding of damp and mould
• Compliance and understanding of Awaab's Law
• Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence
