As a dynamic and growing accountancy firm with over 1,000 employees, we are seeking a Forensic Executive to primarily support our Non-Contentious Valuation (NCV) service line. Reporting into a Forensic Associate Director, you’d be joining this team at an exciting time as we have invested in two new Partners, another new Associate Director and looking to continue to grow the team over the next five years.

Description

As a dynamic and growing accountancy firm with over 1,000 employees, we are seeking a Forensic Executive to primarily support our Non-Contentious Valuation (NCV) service line. Reporting into a Forensic Associate Director, you’d be joining this team at an exciting time as we have invested in two new Partners, another new Associate Director and looking to continue to grow the team over the next five years.

NCV involves business valuation work across multiple sectors often for taxation, financial reporting or wider commercial purposes.

Whilst you will primarily support with NCV work, there will also be scope to support the delivery of wider forensic accounting assignments, including investigations, litigation support services and matrimonial valuation work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with market research and analysis of financial information for projects undertaken by our growing NCV service line
  • Interpretation of company articles of association and other associated documents for the purpose of applying the correct rights to individual shareholdings
  • Support the preparation of reports, briefing notes and business development / thought leadership pieces
  • Ensure work is delivered to a high standard, and keep the relevant job lead updated, particularly around deadlines
  • Liaise with clients, both internal and external to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Use, maintain and develop our collection of models, created for the purpose of specific NCV work, as well as general forensic analysis
  • Develop an understanding of the financial reporting, taxation and wider International Valuation Standards (IVS) frameworks which underpin our valuation conclusions
  • Develop a working understanding of wider forensic service lines, including litigation, fraud, investigations and matrimonial valuation
  • Joint responsibility for own professional development, alongside mandatory CPD training provided by Dains.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Education: You are part-qualified or qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent), or demonstrable progress toward qualification
  • Professional Experience: You bring 1–3 years of experience within a relevant professional services environment, with a proven ability to manage data, deliver high-quality outputs, and work effectively within client-focused teams.
  • Technical Skills: You possess strong Excel and data analysis skills, with familiarity in financial modelling considered an advantage. You are also comfortable navigating financial information and applying logical, methodical approaches to problem-solving.
  • Communication Skills: You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey complex information clearly and professionally across a range of audiences.
  • Attention to Detail & Professionalism: Your work is underpinned by strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Industry Knowledge: You may have experience in areas such as valuation, corporate finance, employee share schemes, or forensic accounting. You are familiar with valuation methodologies (market, income, and cost-based), and have an understanding of concepts like EBITDA, EBIT, and profit before/after tax and their relevance to various stakeholders.
  • Risk & Regulatory Awareness: You have an awareness of risk processes and compliance requirements, including onboarding, AML/KYC procedures, engagement letters, and the Ethical Framework.
  • Adaptability and Innovative Thinking: You are inquisitive and commercially aware, with a proactive mindset and an eagerness to develop your knowledge. You respond well under pressure and approach tight deadlines with resilience and initiative.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: You thrive in a collaborative environment, readily asking questions and supporting your team. You value delivering exceptional client service while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
