Daily Norland Nanny | Wimbledon, London
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000+
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30 am / 8 am - 6 pm
Children: B3, B1
Start Date: Flexible for the right candidate
A family based in Wimbledon Village are looking for an experienced and proactive nanny to join their team. This is a shared-care role, working alongside Mum and becoming a trusted extension of the family. They are looking for someone who is naturally positive, calm and confident, with the ability to read a situation, anticipate what needs doing and take initiative. Someone happy to take the lead when needed, while also understanding how to read the room and work alongside the parents.
The family have two boys, aged three and one. The eldest attends nursery each morning from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm, while the youngest will be at home full-time. The role will involve a lovely mixture of caring for both boys, supporting their routines and development, organising outings and activities, and spending plenty of time out and about. The family are keen for someone who will make the most of everything London has to offer, from museums and galleries to parks, playgroups, classes and imaginative outings, rather than simply staying at home and within the local area. Both children are active, and the nanny will be encouraged to find activities that suit their individual interests, including swimming, Little Gym, playgroups and music classes.
The family place a real emphasis on nutrition and would love a nanny who is genuinely interested in food and enjoys preparing healthy, nutritious meals for the boys. Someone who can make food exciting, introduce them to new flavours and ingredients, and encourage a positive relationship with food is particularly important to the family. The nanny will also take care of the usual nursery duties, including preparing bags and everything the children need for the day, children's laundry, keeping their spaces organised, and preparing meals and snacks.
A calm and reassuring nature is particularly important. At the same time, the family are looking for someone who is confident and isn't afraid to set appropriate boundaries when needed. They have particularly valued nannies who are able to step in and confidently handle situations, while remaining warm and thoughtful. Being receptive to feedback is also very important to the family. They are looking for someone open, communicative and happy to talk things through, as they see this as an important part of building a strong and lasting working relationship.
A driver is required, although the family are very happy for the nanny to use public transport for outings when appropriate. The family travel a couple of times a year, with summer trips to Europe, often Italy or France, and either skiing or a warmer winter destination such as the Caribbean. The candidate will be happy to travel.
The family employ a housekeeper three days a week, as well as a property manager and handyman when required, so the focus of the role is very much on the children. The family have a working, 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel.
