A family based in Barnes are looking for an experienced and passionate nanny to care for their baby boy, who will be around 6.5 months old when Mum returns to work. The family currently have an ad hoc nanny but are now looking for someone to join them on a full-time, long-term basis. They are particularly keen to find someone who is passionate about childcare and genuinely enjoys being around babies, with a Norland-trained nanny highly preferred.
Their little boy is a very happy, smiley and easy-going baby who loves seeing other babies, is playful and enjoys being engaged with. He sleeps well and is generally very content, only becoming upset when he needs something. The family are looking for a nanny who is warm, friendly, kind and calm, with a lovely temperament and a relaxed approach. Someone who is professional and experienced but also naturally playful, who will genuinely enjoy spending their days with him and become a trusted part of the family.
The nanny will have a strong focus on his development, nutrition and overall wellbeing, creating a stimulating and age-appropriate routine as he grows. The family would particularly value someone who can help guide and support them as parents as they navigate each stage of his development, sharing their knowledge and experience in a collaborative and reassuring way.
A key part of the role will be organising and managing his social life and activities. The nanny will be encouraged to take him to baby classes such as Monkey Music, playgroups, as well as arranging playdates and opportunities to spend time with other children. The family have lots of friends with babies and are keen for him to have a happy and social childhood. They are members of Roehampton and are hoping to introduce swimming lessons soon. They do not currently plan to send him to nursery until he is around 2 and a half years old, so they are looking for someone who will enjoy creating a varied, engaging and social routine for him during the week.
The family have a cleaner for approximately seven hours a week, meaning the nanny's time will be fully focused on the baby rather than general household duties. The family are currently renovating their home and will be living in a rental property just a few minutes away until the work is completed. The nanny will not be required to travel with the family on holidays. Occasional babysitting will also form part of the role.
