Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join the Developer Services Team in Cardiff. You will coordinate commercial and contractual issues, raise POs, process invoices, and provide cost and revenue reporting for complex engineering projects.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the property development sector.
  • Working knowledge of contract offers and related legal documents between utilities and developers.
  • Ideally experience in client/account/revenue management in utilities/engineering.
  • Commercially and financially astute with good stakeholder management.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple revenue streams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all customer-based commercial and contractual issues, including offers and legal agreements.
  • Raise purchase orders as needed.
  • Process invoices within contract timelines.
  • Provide reporting for payment applications and contractor payments.
  • Provide cost management reporting and oversight by Developer Services.
  • Ensure revenues are received per policy and keep customers informed of changes to scope and costs.
  • Prepare Final Accounts for approval within one month of technical completion.
  • Assist in managing relationships with key customers and report quarterly on activity and risks.
  • Support oversight of customer activities to deliver best service.
  • Provide monthly reports on offers, activities, risks and payments.
  • Work with Commercial teams to recover outstanding revenue/debt.
  • Undertake other duties as required.

What you’ll be responsible for

As a commercial analyst in our Developer Services Team you will:

  • Co-ordinate all customer-based commercial and contractual issues, including the issuing of offers and legal agreements
  • Raise purchase orders as and when needed
  • Process invoices in line with the timescale’s requirements of the relevant contract
  • Provide reporting for payment applications and payments to contractors
  • Provide cost management reporting and deeded by Developer Services management
  • Ensure all revenues are received in line with departmental policies and that customers are kept fully informed on all commercial activities, including changes to the scope of service and costs
  • Prepare Final Accounts for approval within one month (or 7 days of vesting for Self Lay schemes, and other regulatory relevant targets) of the technical completion of schemes and ensure effective commercial closure with customers
  • Assist with managing the commercial relationship with key customers and provide ‘statement of account’ type reporting on a quarterly basis to key customers
  • Help to provide oversight of customer activities and requirements to ensure that the department delivers the best overall service
  • Provide monthly reports on Offers issued, pending and accepted; key customer activities; customer commercial risks and issues
  • Work with the Commercial teams to ensure that all outstanding revenue / debt is recovered appropriately
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business
About you
  • Understanding of the property development sector
  • Working knowledge of contract offers and associated legal documents between utility companies and property construction companies
  • Ideally Experience of client / account / revenue management in the utilities / engineering sector
  • Commercially and financially astute
  • Good customer and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised and able to manage numerous revenue streams and complex engineering / construction projects art once
