Job description

The DA Litigated File Handler role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff. The DA Litigated Fee File Handler will run a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud cases under Delegated Authority on behalf of a cross section of insurance clients.

The File Handler will work closely with the Team Leader and Lead Lawyer to achieve optimal results in a commercially sound manner. The role requires following defined processes, a forensic and analytical approach to evidence, and high commercial awareness in fixed fee work. Decision-making within set timeframes, aligned with case strategy and client interests, is crucial.

The role involves strategic foresight to ensure all litigation opportunities are utilized, shaping the future of the counter-fraud arena.

The caseload includes various suspected fraudulent insurance claims such as:

  • Bogus Passenger
  • Staged/Contrived
  • Induced accidents
  • Low Speed Impact
  • Late Notification Claims
Key Responsibilities

The File Handler will manage cases from litigation to resolution, including:

  • Strategic Excellence: Reviewing evidence, setting case strategy, adhering to process stages, identifying litigation opportunities, client trend analysis, ensuring client satisfaction, and meeting KPIs.
  • Technical Excellence: Collaborating on investigations, meeting deadlines, achieving favorable litigation results, proactive case management, delegating tasks, maintaining case systems, compliance with SRA standards, and ensuring profitability and timely billing.
  • Cultural Excellence: Upholding company values.
Working Hours

35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. The primary location is Parklands, Bolton, with a flexible attendance policy requiring at least 1 day in the office weekly.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Experience in civil litigation claims handling or relevant qualifications (ILEX, LPC)
  • Handling RTA pre-litigated/litigated caseloads
  • Understanding of insurance litigation, CPR, and relevant protocols
  • Strong client care, analytical, communication, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, anticipate problems, and find solutions
  • Experience with billing systems and a commitment to company values
