Description

The DA Litigated File Handler role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff. The DA Litigated Fee File Handler will manage a caseload of Litigated RTA suspected fraud cases under Delegated Authority on behalf of various insurance clients.

The File Handler will collaborate closely with the Team Leader and Lead Lawyer to achieve optimal results in a commercially sound manner. The role requires following defined processes and applying a forensic and analytical approach to evidence. A strong commercial awareness regarding fixed fee work is essential. Decisiveness within set timeframes, aligned with case strategy and client interests, is a key aspect of this role.

The role also involves strategic foresight to ensure all litigation opportunities are maximized, contributing to shaping the future of the counter-fraud arena.

The caseload includes various suspected fraudulent insurance claims such as:

  • Bogus Passenger
  • Staged/Contrived
  • Fraudulent Exaggeration
  • Induced accidents
  • Low Speed Impact
  • Late Notification Claims
  • Credit Hire Fraud
  • Organised Crime (Fraud Rings)
Key Responsibilities

The File Handler will manage fraud cases from litigation through to resolution, including:

Strategic Excellence
  • Reviewing and analyzing evidence throughout the case
  • Setting case strategy in accordance with internal and client guidelines
  • Following all process stages
  • Identifying litigation opportunities and complex cases
  • Recognizing client trends and opportunities to enhance client relationships

  • Managing files according to client guidelines
  • Maximizing client satisfaction
  • Completing all MI accurately and promptly
  • Meeting client and internal KPIs

  • Coordinating investigations and case strategies
  • Meeting procedural deadlines

  • Proactively managing investigations and case strategy
  • Delegating tasks effectively
  • Maintaining case management systems accurately
  • Adhering to file management policies and SRA standards

Working Hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.

Location

Primary location is Parklands, Bolton office. We support flexible working with at least 1 day in the office per week.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a qualified legal professional (ILEX, LPC, etc.)
  • Experience with RTA pre-litigated and litigated caseloads
  • Understanding of insurance litigation practices and principles
  • Knowledge of litigation processes, CPR, protocols, and portals
  • Good advocacy and client care skills
  • Strong analytical, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience with time recording and billing systems
