We are seeking an experienced D365 F&O Software Engineering Manager to join a major enterprise transformation programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the technical delivery, development, integration, and ongoing evolution of a large-scale Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership experience, driving engineering excellence across development teams while ensuring the D365 F&O landscape remains scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned to business objectives.

The Role

As the D365 F&O Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering teams, governing technical delivery, and overseeing the development lifecycle across a complex ERP environment.

Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Customer Operations, Supply Chain, Business Transformation, and third-party partners, you will play a key role in shaping the technical roadmap and ensuring successful programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and mentor D365 F&O developers, technical consultants, solution architects, and integration engineers.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, development best practices, and quality controls.
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Manage technical resources, team capacity, and delivery priorities.

Solution Design & Delivery

• Own the technical delivery of D365 F&O projects, enhancements, and platform improvements.
• Review and approve solution architectures and technical designs.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with Microsoft best practices.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies, and delivery schedules.

D365 F&O Technical Oversight

• Oversee D365 F&O customisation, extensions, integrations, and reporting solutions.
• Lead integration activities across Azure services, APIs, Dataverse, Power Platform, Salesforce, AWS, and third-party platforms.
• Provide guidance on data migration strategies and enterprise integration patterns.
• Support platform upgrades, enhancements, and adoption of new functionality.

DevOps & Release Management

• Drive Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) best practices.
• Manage Azure DevOps repositories, pipelines, and release processes.
• Champion CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment automation.
• Govern environment management, code promotion, and release scheduling.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders across the organisation.
• Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Lead technical workshops, design reviews, and governance forums.
• Build strong relationships with implementation partners and technology vendors.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure platform stability, availability, and performance.
• Lead root-cause analysis and remediation of critical incidents.
• Drive technical debt reduction and continuous platform optimisation.
• Promote engineering best practices across the wider technology function.
• Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O).
• Proven experience leading software engineering or development teams within enterprise-scale ERP environments.
• Experience delivering large-scale D365 F&O implementations and transformation programmes.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, DevOps methodologies, and release management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Knowledge of Finance and Accounting processes.
• Experience supporting Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Subscription Billing, Revenue Recognition, and Supply Chain processes within D365.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Budget and resource management experience.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native integration architectures.
